Sustainable mission

A positive plan since 2021

Since 1st January 2021, there’s been a shake-up in how I order plants. Chiefly because of Brexit and the impact it has had on importing plants and flowers into the UK. Like a blessing in disguise, I spent time considering options and how to proceed.

It was the ideal opportunity to evaluate my business and our position on Sustainability.

I continue to offer a more considerate approach to providing products that are more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

I’ve seen an obscene amount of single plastic use in the cut flowers and wholesale plant sector and I now source and include plants and flowers that have fewer air miles and less plastic waste.

I aim to provide you with plants that have been grown right here in the UK using peat-free sustainable compost and swapping plastic plant pots for 100% compostable coir pots where possible.

I changed wholesalers that provide me with plants

Because of Brexit, the cost of plants and flowers is now more expensive. There are import charges incurred on top of previous prices and lengthy goods checks at ports which always equates to time = money.

I continue to provide you with a brilliant service - not just the products that we sell but the aftercare that comes with each sale, the advice, quick communication and tried and tested plant care equipment that we stock for sale.

Making small changes

Buying from our site you’ll find those listed clearly that are UK-grown, peat-free soil and zero-plastic plant pots.

If you’d like to join me in making small changes such as these then I have organic plant feeds, peat-free soil packs and coir plant pots for sale. Come Spring when you come to repot your plants on into bigger pots this would be a great time to make small adjustments.
